New Ruger Mark IV Hunter Pics
I picked up my new Mark IV Hunter. It's awesome. The finish and craftsmanship is excellent. The grips look really sharp. The new upgrades to the IV are quite excellent. It's no $200 Mark II, but it looks like a keeper.
Takedown is a cinch. The safety and bolt release feel good and release fairly well (the bolt release is a bit stiff). The sights seem like the will be pretty good. The trigger is mildly mushy and a bit heavy. The mag release is easy to access and the mag assist really sends those magazines flying!
Overall, it looks good and seems like everything will function well. I hope to shoot it on Friday.
I plan to have this threaded for a suppressor. First, I want to run it and perhaps modify a few things.

I've seen a few pictures of threaded Hunters. I may also leave this alone and get something else for a suppressor. I have a Beretta 71 that should work.

Thanks guys. I gave it a quick cleaning. Minor amounts of powder residue was present. No shavings in the innards. So far so good. I am excited to shoot it A LOT on Friday.

I have a Mark III and like it alot even if it keeps me occupied for a while with tear down. I thought about another one but I also noticed the price of them jumped quite a bit so I decided to be entertained for a while longer. Al

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

It shore is a purty firearm Sr.
If Ruger had beat Smith & Wesson to market with it I probably would have on instead of my Victory.
But I love My Victory so won't be trading it in. And for the price it was an awesome deal.
But maybe a Ruger could find a new home if I actually make the mistake of asking to fondle one in a gun shop.
That is the way most of my guns have managed to become a "I've gotta have this one".
