Big Boys Toy Store

Post by BigAl52 » Wed Jul 12, 2023 6:52 pm

I went to the toy store today. Yes I had permission from the house speaker. I have been back and forth with another 357 or this gun. I decided to get something different and Im looking forward to shooting this with 10mm and 40 S&W both. It has some great reviews. plus its close to 41 mag one of my all time favs. This followed me home

I'll look forward to the range report. I don't have any 10mm in my collection, only because I don't want to add a new tool head to the Dillon Press. :D
I like the looks of that gun, I hope it shoots as nice as it looks.

Maybe this weekend to the range. Im also waiting on some more moon clips. They are the Rimz clips that load and unload easy. The three that came with the gun are metal and load fine but when you unload the empty brass its fun. The RimZ clips are a palomar clip and work great I have used them before. I put a 686 in my hand and a GP100. I just liked the way this one felt. They also had the 6.5 inch barrel version but that thing needed some wheels. I get the dies thing Marine as Dillons dies have gone to outer space in price. I have the 10mm and 40 already with a ton of 40 brass. I ordered some 10mm reman to shoot but I do have 10mm brass. Until I get more empty I just want to leave the dies set to load 40. Will post a range report when I go. Oh to you dont need clips to shoot 10mm but you do for the 40. Thanks for all the compliments

Very nice. What powder are you planning to use for the 10mm?

Well Ernie I know there are better choices than what I have on hand like Blue Dot, AA 7 , and AA 9 but right now I have Unique, 231 and some HS-6. So I will probably use one of those. I dont plan on shooting full power 10mm to much so I may pick up a couple of boxes of factory stuff to have on hand. If I happen to run into some AA 9 some place I might grab a LB or 2. I did just order some reman 10mm so I will see how that does.I like the idea of shooting 40 and I have a ton of it.

A 610 and a 625 mountain gun are prominent on my list.

That's an impressive Smith. Congrats, Al. I have shot the 10 in a couple of 1911s and thought it was one fine cartridge. Always thought it would be dandy in a single action so as to avoid moon clips.
