Day has come to bump up CCW level....

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:44 am

Woke him up this morning and let Mr.XDE .45 ACP sleep in. The Alaskan will be my carry thru the Winter and Spring and most likely beyond.
The 250 gr. XTP at 1100 FPS out of this revolver is the starter load for HD .45 Colt and a very comfortable shooting load in this thing. Much more to come.
Did our 1 mile dog walk this morning and didn't notice the extra weight at all over my Springfield XDE .45 ACP.

Left handed yes but can shoot good with right hand too. Shoot rifles right handed.

Pulled out an old M1 Carbine mag and with slight modifications makes a good speed loader for revolvers. It can carry 6 Colt 45 rounds and use light thumb pressure to shove them into cylinder.

Only thing about carrying one of the gold Desert Eagles...you have to hold them horizontal to shoot them properly. I don't know why, but in pictures you never see the pistol held vertical like all others. I guess it's just something to get used to...πŸ€”πŸ€£

I never realized that. Learn sumpin' new every day. ;) Carrying it concealed might be a problem, but if Anna can do it, I reckon I could.

Well, if you're going to a BBQ go big or go home. ;) Of course you'd have to have matching custom leather for it. Wouldn't do to stick it in some OTS kydex - that would be beyond tacky.
