Just a bit of leather work for new holster..........

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Nov 22, 2020 1:49 pm

Thanks to Amazon I was able to locate a Left hand holster by Bianchi for a 5 inch barrel S&W N frame. Got it in a couple days and even after letting the
holster sit over night with revolver wrapped in plastic installed with hammer thong strapped it was still going to be a two hand tug trying to get it snapped.

So I marked the spot and took my Dremel with 1/8 inch burr and cut a nice neat slot for the hammer. Now it's easy with one hand to unsnap the thong
and secure it while carrying the revolver.

Very nice fitting and looking holster by Bianchi.

Good work. Looks similar to the Hunter holsters I was looking at for the 357 and 44 mags.

Ernie, that would be Hunter #1100-48. Found my old Hunter for my Ruger .357 BH. It fits my Pietta perfectly.

Great solution, looks great. I like those Bianchi holsters too bad yours had a small design issue. I do have to say that looking at your pictures and thinking about releasing the thumb snap and drawing the revolver left handed just makes my head wonky.
