On it's way home !
Been taking a while but my S&W 25-7 .45 Colt is being shipped out tomorrow. Just took some time for money to clear.
Now to find a good holster for it.

I'll say its nice! What's the load gonna be? Speaking of holsters, I have to find one for the Taylor. Hmm.

I don't think those had the cylinder setup for moon clip clearance. If I remember the odd numbered dash models were .45 Colt only and the even numbered were .45 ACP.
For 45 Colt loads I have the 250 gr. cast MB bullets loaded with 8-9 gr. Unique and same with 6 gr. of Red Dot and 255 gr. cast and plated loads as well.
Not going to run hot Ruger loads thru it though.

Re: On it's way home !
Pretty sure that forty is right on the clearance issue going with moon clips. Accuracy wouldn't be the best shooting 45 ACP in a chamber cut for the longer 45 Colt, anyway. I had one of those Ruger Redhawk 45 Colt/45ACP editions set up to do just that. It allowed you to shoot 45 ACP in the longer 45 Colt cylinders and accuracy with the 45 ACP was was pretty bleak. More of a backup cartridge in that gun. Not even close to the accuracy I was getting shooting my Blackhawk single action with the 45 ACP cylinder. (Sold the Redhawk because it had other issues, as well.)

Going to call the new S&W "Stormy" if and when it gets here. When I sent the check via USPS it got hung up in hurricane weather headed to Ga.
Now on it's travels here went thru another hurricane remains. Supposed to show up on Monday....I hope!

Fitting name for the weather it's gone thru. My Ca. waiting period starts today on the Taylor.

That’s funny in a sad sort of way. Hope you see it soon. Here in the Republic of Washington State you would now start a 10 day waiting period in order to bring your assault revolver home. Enjoy your new Smith.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:03 pmGoing to call the new S&W "Stormy" if and when it gets here.
