Well the bug finally bit. I was at the range today and saw they had the Range Officer on sale. A really good sale.

It came home with me.

Another update. I've had my Range Officer for a little over a month now.

Clovispup and I have been loving it. It is very accurate. CP has adapted to it rather quickly. She went from large (for her) groups to better than her model 10 groups in just a few range sessions. She loves the Henry BB steel better, but the 1911 has quickly wormed it's way into her list of favorite guns.

As an added bonus, I just got the box from Springfield yesterday. It contained a nice holster, a 2 mag holder, and 4, count them, 4 shiny new magazines. This is a promotional giveaway you either mail in a coupon, or register online.

I carried it concealed for the first time yesterday. It is big and heavy, but doable. I still prefer my Ruger, but it needs a trip back to Prescott.

Love the Pachy grips - not for looks, but they sure make for a great to shoot setup. Have used them on 1911s, too.

Thanks to me, we've gone through several 1911 purges, but I can never bring myself to let go of our two SAs. Bill shoots the RO in 9mm. Me, I shoot my old trusty Mil-spec and not only has it never jammed, it is crazy accurate. Shoots right there with some high dollar 1911s I've had. They're gone, but this one remains, occasional hammer bite and all. :)

I love wood, but the Hogue grips sure make life easier at the range. I was surprised at how good they looked on the weapon.

I shot this gun with the wood grips with finger grooves in over 200 matches and placed in the top 10 of in 99% of them . Maybe that is why I like my Gen 3 Glock .

That is one fine 1911, TGR. Love seeing it every time you post it.
