New Toy... Rossi 92

Post by Vaquero » Mon Oct 05, 2020 8:19 pm

New to me older one, Puma Rossi in 45 colt.
Shoots pretty good, stepped out on the back porch and put 10 in it.
Leaning on the rail, hit the 8" & 10" steel at 50 yds. 7 out of eight, but missed the 4 " both times. :o
That was my 9.5 gr unique loaded with a 250 gr cast.
Will do a little testing later in the week.

Nothing wrong with those '92's Randy. Light, handy and usually pretty dang accurate. Good find.

Randys been to the candy store and nothin like off the back porch for testing. Tried to do a little shooting today here. Wind was terrible and the smoke from the fires was equally terrible. I did get a few rounds off out of the Remlin 357. Replaced the front with a lower one and sight was able to drop the rear sight to the middle position. It shot well under the conditions off the roof of the Bonny

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

That's a nice one Randy! Has it been gone thru and slicked up as in removing the lever and bolt and deburred/polished on sliding surfaces?
With my .45 Colt Rossi Ranch Hand that made a big difference along with breaking the sharp edge around the loading gate and shimming the loading gate to lighten the tension.

I don't think it's been shot much as there are no marks on the loading gate, which is easy to load and no real sharp edges either.
No visible wear on the lifter, I'd bet it was only shot a few times then put away.
He said he hadn't shot it in over 10 yrs.
I'll put up some paper and see what it will do.
