M-14 - Resetting the Elevation Drum

Post by Hrfunk » Wed Jun 03, 2020 8:20 am

For anyone who might find this helpful, this midweek update video covers the process of re-indexing the rear sight elevation drum on an M14 (or M1A, or M1).

I remember in basic training shooting an M14 with a steel pot on. Almost every shot made the rim of the pot hit the rear sight knocking it down. Frequent counting the clicks was common.

Thanks for the video. I like anything about the M-14 . I went through Sniper School at Fort Bragg with a scoped out M-14 and it was the same one that I had to take back to Vietnam for my 2 nd. Tour of duty there. I qualified at 1000 meters with it and passed sniper school with some pretty amazing shots at various distances.
