I took my Uberti 1860 to the range yesterday and when I went to lever in the first round the lifter arm won’t raise the shell up to the barrel. Any ideas?

Yep. You might want to remove the side covers and take a look.

If you have never had the side covers off...they are RAZOR sharp. Watch out.
To clean I just loosen the lever screw, back it out a little then tap the right side cover out.

Was this factory ammo or your own loads? This type of rifle action is somewhat sensitive to cartridge length. When you cycle the action with no ammo in the rifle does the lifter block raise?

Before I took the side covers off I thought I would try the easiest fix first so I sprayed Hoppe’d gun repair on the lifter let it set 5 minutes. Tried the lever and it cycled perfectly, I then loaded up 10 shells and they all cycled perfectly, tomorrow the range.

Took the Uberti to the range today, shot nice groups was ringing the gong. Shot 49 times and had one left in the tube, went to cycle it and it was jammed. Looked and the shell was bn in backwards, any help on how to fix this?

Nope, but another reason why the tube load sucks.
It would never happen with a side gate .
Good luck
