Lever action silhouette pistol caliber rifle of choice

Post by Ozziemick » Mon Apr 20, 2020 6:06 am

In lever action silhouette, pistol caliber class, what is everyone’s favoured caliber? And rifle of choice for pistol class? Make and model?? I know this is very subjective, and there’s no right answer or best choice, but just after different opinions.

I have shot with a 45 colt in a 24' Marlin cowboy but the barrel was messed up at the factory and it wouldn't shoot lead bullets. Decided to go with a .357. The Rossi with a 24' barrel was my first choice but I couldn't find one so I bought a Henry BB. I like this gun just wish Henry made one with a 24" barrel.

I like anything .44-45 but the .357 Mag will knock them around well too.

Have only ever used my marlin 357 but keen to see how my BBS 327 goes.
Son recently purchased a BBB in 44mag, idea was it should make a reasonable hog gun and let him shoot both pistol and rifle events with the one rifle.

I bought a BB Steel today, 357, 20” barrel. They’re getting hard to find here in Australia, price has gone up and no one knows when the next shipment will arrive. So I was happy to track one down and drop the cash on it.

Glad to hear that you were able to find one. I like mine. Your right about supply shortages the area where Henry's are made was hit fairly hard by China's gift to the rest of the world.
