Ok, who has experience with the Rossi Ranch Hands? I’m looking for a mares leg to turn into an SBR, and have someone wanting to trade with me for a Rossi. I would be swapping for my JM Marlin .45-70 1885GS. I would be wanting cash on top, but not sure how much to ask for. Truth be told, I’m likely going to hold out for a Henry, but figure I should explore the options that present themselves.

I bet Forty will chime in here when he sees this. He just did do a range report with one. I think his is in 45 colt.

The Rossi Ranch Hand out of the box will need some action work to be a nice slick running shooter.
If the one you are considering hasn't been worked already.....you need to remove the lever and bolt and carefully with fine files and stones deburr
all the sliding surfaces and stone the high spots to get a nice smooth movement. Also break the sharp edge around the loading gate and adjust the gate spring for lighter pressure. Think I used a shim for that.
There are some YouTube videos that show how to slick up the Rossi R92 which is same action as the Ranch Hand.

Hey Forty. My neighbors friend just showed me his 44 mag Ranchhand and I was telling him about yours with that sling setup. Is that something you made or did you buy that somewhere. He is wanting to know where you got it as he is interested.

Al...I don't know if I answered this question for you or not but just found your post. It was just a adjustible sling I had laying around and you clip both ends to the lanyard on the Ranchhand.
