Incredible engineering but it would have been a functional nightmare with black powder at the time.

Appears to have been an engineering waste of time. How 1200 of them even got made is surprising.

The number of attempts at developing repeating, non-cartridge case guns is staggering.

1200 for this one is amazing as many never made it past a few prototypes.

Historically they were all within a pretty narrow time frame between typical muzzleloading rifles and the first cartridge guns.
