Two CZs in .17HMR

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Mar 03, 2020 12:47 am

I’ve barely been back from the range and I’m already thinking of the next time. If the weather is super good I’ll take the bottom two. The top two was from today’s trip.

The International is a 455 and with the sling it’s great for standing, kneeling or sitting.

The American is a 452-2E. It has a modern Weaver V-24 6-24x42mm scope and is zeroed for 100 yards. I have shot my top targets with this rifle. The rifle is capable when I am. The amount of concentration it takes is almost like work. But if I do the work I get the rewards.

If the weather doesn’t look good I’ll dig out a couple 10/22’s.

Those 17s should be great shooters. We've had most versions of CZ rifles in 17 HMR and all have shot very well. The one we will never sell, though, id our 453V in 17 HMR with a fluted barrel. It's my husband's favorite rifle.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I love it Al. For some reason it’s very accurate.

Nice rifles. I have a 455 stainless in .17 HMR...good shooter. I recently picked up a brand new 452 in .22LR, but haven't shot it yet...found a distributor who still had some in the warehouse! This 452 is the Australian/Canadian 'equivalent' to a Grand Finale, Called the "Farewell Edition" (#520/1000). CZ builds a good rifle. I have a couple of 512 semi-autos as well, and (believe it or not), they out-shoot a lot of my bolt-guns.

Thanks for posting this...the 'other rifles' section has been pretty dry for a month or so.

roddy,
You are going to love that rifle. I saw a few pictures of them and they look like my Grand Finale's except a little different checkering. I have tuned on the ones my wife and I have and they are now shooting better than a sporter barrel should. Good luck. Also it is nice to have Sir Henry back out there shooting and posting his results.

bandit...thanks. That's encouraging to hear. I was up in the air as to shooting it or not, but mounted some glass this weekend...just waiting on the weather. When I get a chance to snap some pics, I'll start a thread.
