.
I took a look at Henry's current line lineup. The closest, looks like the CCH Big Boy in .44mag. Octagon barrel, no brass, not quite the desired caliber.

... But I/we have discussed all this before.
I so would like to have a 35 and a 444 with an octagon barrel.

RP
I have a BBB in 44mag. that I bought used, and the brass has a nice Dull patina, and smooth stocks.
I like it fine.
A 35 figured like that would be darn near perfect.
Maybe they'll add the octagon barrel at some point, then I could just swap out the stocks myself. :D

The Marlin 336C in .35 Rem. was my first deer hunting rifle. I had bought that rifle new and about 30 years ago my Brother-in-law begged it off me. Later I found an older 1950s version and after a lot of TLC it looked great. Well my Brother-in-law married and wanted another .35 to take his wife hunting with him so he got that one as well. A couple of months ago I found a pristine Marlin 336C in .35 Rem. that was made in 1974 and featured a gloss blued finish, which I had never seen before. It no only looks great, it's a great shooter too. This one isn't going anywhere.

Found a 1953 336a in 35rem.
$354 OTD.
24inch, Ballard rifling barrel.
Looks to be setting in a safe for some time.
The stock felt dry, bluing pretty good for a rifle three years older than I am.

I went to the LGS to pick up a couple more boxes of 25-20.
When I first saw it in the rack I assumed it was a 30-30 and started got put it down. I already have an xlr
Then saw the tag as 35rem. Started calculating in my head, camparing between the carbine I have and the "A".
The price kind of made me take it. The rifle price was a little over the cost of three boxes of 25-20 cartridges.
Didn't get the ammo.

Yep, that factory 25-20 is pricey.
Have dies and components will just load me own.

I'll just bet the ole 35 will be a shooter.
