Worked at an S&H store when I was in college. Was the only male employee which meant I could not work the counter (women only), I did all the assembly and maintenance.

Re: Nylon 66
I used to ride My bicycle up to the hardware store (2 miles) when I was in grade school just to look at that Nylon 66 behind the counter. Never did get one. My dad finally bought me a Western Auto ( re-badged Remmington) .22 single shot bolt action. He said it would make me a better shot. 1 shot 1 kill. I listened to the old Marine Sargent , and he was right, but I sure would have liked that 66.
Now as an old Man I look at my Henry Silver boy with the same adoring eyes, as I did as a kid with that model 66.
Thanks for the memories.

These old rem threads brought me back to my first deer 56 years ago. Had a 600 carbine in .308 which kicked hard and left many a shoulder bruise. An absolute joy to lug all day though at 5.5 lbs. Thanks for the flashnacks.
