Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Just picked up a Marlin 1895cba. 18.5 inch tapered octagon barrel, 45-70.
Been seeing it for almost a year at my LGS. Finaly took it in to the fold. Matches my 26 inch Cowboy 45-70.
Pictures tomorrow.
Tim
Hey O, I know that CB stands for Cowboy, but what is a CBA?

I have a pair of Marlin 444's so I haven't a need fer a 45-70.
Waiting on the pics.

Congrats on your new Marlin - we have one and it has turned out to be a great little big-bore lever gun, but man, does that thing kick when you launch factory 45-70 out of it - highly recommend a recoil pad. Here's a pic of ours with a Buffalo Arms recoil pad...

Nice looking Carbine Tim. What’s the story on the rear sight?

I’m guessing the Ventura River must be flowing well with all the rain you guys have been getting?

The rear sight is a Williams WGRS, with the appiture removed, like a ghost sight.
Thought I'd try that out. I have target sights on most of my other lever guns.
As a set it and forget it sight, I figure this will be good out to 100 yards.

Yes lots of water, for us. Springs are flowing again

Went to the range and took ten shoots with the new rifle.
Just my sub-sonic load.
Rifle handles well, the bullets hit what is aimed at.
Some windage and a little height fine tuning.
