Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I had an 1873 in 44-40 with a 30 inch barrel. I let someone talk me out of in and I told him if he ever wanted to sell it I would buy it back. Found out later he gave it to his son and his son sold it because he needed the money.

Just two diffrent types of rifles but both with a diffrent appeal and strengths. Nothing wrong with getting both. :D

How was it to shoot? Was it a Uberti?

Don't throw any stones my way, but I've gotten out of the lever gun repeating game, now. All my lever guns are of the single shot variety and they fit my shooting needs and tastes better than the repeaters. Guess you might say I've gone Quigley, what with my love of single shots in rifles with a nod towards single actions in revolvers.

The perfect lever gun. Takes any kind of ammunition, never any feeding and cycling issues. :)

Single shot is my preference for a long range rifle. For sure.
