The duller look is probably more authentic, too, as I'm sure folks shooting those originals, back in the day, weren't spending a lot of time polishing that brass. For a lot of those folks, these were working guns, not fun guns.

hmmmm, each to his own liking. My Henry is one of the very few really nice things I own. When not in use, it's a gorgeous trophy piece and gets the buff up to keep it that way.
