I kind of thought the same...seems the stock would be a little low for a scope, but I slipped one on with low rings, and it fits me well. This isn't the first CZ I've had with an odd stock/sight combo. My 512 carbine was just the opposite. It came with an american style stock, and open sights (tangent). It is also not the first one with a blotchy uneven finish, but I will touch on that in another thread, regarding my 512s.
I hope it shoots well too.

That was easy...

Some cotton balls/pads and a little bit of acetone wiped the mud right off...time to start rubbin' in some oil.

I've been playing with CZ's since 2006. They have a propensity to throw stuff together (just like Colt does) from overstocked parts and push them to distributors. Sometimes you get some interesting stuff.

Ive always loved stainless against nice walnut...I own a 527 carbine in 7.6x39 and a 452 american. I had a cz disease a few years ago and had multiple versions in 22lr,17hmr and a hornet. The 527 and 452 are all that remain. They are a quality firearm.

Hard to believe whats under that factory "make them all look the same" finish. You made that rifle look great and I really like it. Great job!

I haven’t been paying attention to CZ rifles lately. I had a 453 Varmint .22 lr (8 ounce single set trigger, match chamber) that would practically stack bullets one on top of each other. I saved a target of a 50 yd 10 shot group of Mini Mags that measures 5/8”. That was an absolute fluke that I never came close to repeating. I should never have sold it.....

I also had a 527 Varmint .223 that was crazy accurate using their optional single shot tray. That is gone too.

CZ is the way to go if you actually want to hit what you are aiming at all the time. Inaccurate factory rifles drive me nuts.

How is the trigger on your new 455? Does it need any work? I like the stainless barrel and action, I don’t remember seeing one before.... in fact I searched and only found one rifle. .... https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-455-ameri ... synthetic/. Were there others? I would love to own one.

Rats, you got me looking at guns. Now I want this one. .... https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-457-varmint-at-one/ .... stainless would be great but this’ll do fine.

Thanks.

John.
In all honesty, I've only put a couple of rounds through it as a function check when I put it back together. The real test will come when the weather warms up. I had heard bad things about the trigger on the 455 (at least the early ones), so kept an eye on that when I did fire it. There wasn't a lot of creep, it wasn't overly heavy (with the adjustment backed off as far as possible), and though not "glass rod" crisp, it was positive. I may try one of the "Yo Dave" trigger kits in the spring if I change my mind on any of that.
I believe it is the barreled action from the rifle you found, just installed in a wood stock. I have done a bit of research on this, and it appears to be a Canadian only model. It came with a CZ branded scope mount, 10 round magazine, a sling, and a soft case. The model number on this one is 5074-8905-DKANBAX.

I would do a search for reviews on the At-One stock before considering a purchase...I read a couple of pretty bad reviews regarding fit and finish with ones bought directly from Boyds. The CZ one looks a little different, and seems to have a bit less plastic on it...perhaps these will be better.
