Seen one of this model
Any one ever seen a Winchester 9417 Laminate. This is a 17 HMR. I bought it NIB and kept it that way while I owned it. I never even had the notion to fire it as I really don't even like 17 HMR's very much. I bought it for $700 and thought I had lost my mind to pay that much for it. It had nice workmanship but it never did much for me to want to keep it and hunt with it when I have other rifles to hunt with. I thought it felt much like the Henry 001 I had at the time that I didn't like either. I am a Frontier guy when it comes to a Henry. These are pretty rare to see in the laminated model. I ended up selling it to a dealer/collector for a crazy amount of money. I think he may have lost his mind. Maybe not. He was buying it for his collection.

Just goes to show you that one man's "Why did I ever buy this gun?" is another man's "I gotta have this gun!"
Sounds like a true "Win/Win" on the Win, so good for you! Think of it as a Christmas Bonus!

Looking at that receiver and ejection port I was thinking that looked a lot like a H001

I can understand those prices on a 94/22 or 94/17. JM Marlin 39s are expensive, too, but those Winchester 94xx guns are just nuts on the price.

I have a 9422, 9422m and a 9410 so a 9417 would be to my liking.

What would you consider "nuts" on the price of a 1973 9422M in excellent condition? S/N F1298xx.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 3:21 pmI can understand those prices on a 94/22 or 94/17. JM Marlin 39s are expensive, too, but those Winchester 94xx guns are just nuts on the price.

Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes is rapidly becoming a reality (11/2023). Para Bellum.

Yea I agree. The prices are obviously reflective of the collectability of these guns as opposed to anything else.but those Winchester 94xx guns are just nuts on the price.
As far as 9422s I have seen a few lately that were not too bad - including a 9422 Trapper in a local pawn shop for $699.
