Not sure how the 444 Marlin would work on squirrels but I think I may be slightly under gunned. We have big tough fox squirrels here so I use it mostly on real aggressive chipmunks and use the 300 gr. bullets.BigAl52 wrote:Good Idea bandit. But how does that 444 work on squirrels

.444 is pretty big caliber for squirrels and chipmunks.
Have eastern gray and fox here. .410 #4 shot works nicely. I leave the chipmunks to the cats.

The 32-20 will do squirrels to deer . Low noise and recoil and super accurate round . If you reload make it a better round . The 327 mag come very near the same round . The 32-20 bottleneck feed better in lever gun then the 327 mag straight wall case .
