Mini 14 Ranch Rifle

Post by TNman » Wed Sep 26, 2018 11:38 am

This is my mini 14 Ranch Rifle...series 187 #1xx which makes it a first day of production of the RR variant I figure. Got it out of the safe yesterday, cleaned it, and put a Weigand rail on and added a Bushnell red dot that I’ve had for awhile. I bought it new and have killed a few coyotes and chert cobbles with it over the years; accuracy is not on par with an AR but it has a place in my safe. It is certainly hunting capable <125 yards; thinking I will try to get some deer blood on it this Fall. It is a beautiful rifle imo and functions flawlessly.

Nice looking, decent shooter, low serial number makes it a keeper IMO.

Nice, I lust after a Mini-14 but just have not jumped in that pool yet.

Nice looking rifle. Years ago, the Texas Highway Patrol issued Ruger Mini 14's. When the department transitioned from mini 14's to M4 patrol rifles, the department gave troopers the option of purchasing their assigned rifles. I purchased mine, it has the Serial # 184-96XXX. It's always been a steady shooter.
