Browning TBolt
Ive looked at the Browning TBolt alot lately and I really like the one they have in a maple stock. The have a 10 round flush fit magazine and are also available in other stock configurations. Anyone here have one? Like to here how you like it if you do. I have read some reviews on them and they seem to be very good shooting rifles. There on the expensive side at 5 to 700.00 depending on the stock you get. Al

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: Browning TBolt
We have one with a walnut stock - great little rifle built with that typical excellent Miroku quality. The 10 round "double-helix" magazine that it uses is also a very clever design and well made. Ours did not come with iron sights - we had to buy Talley rings made exclusively for the T-Bolt to mount a scope. I'd say it shoots on par with our CZ 452 & 455 bolt actions, but it is a lighter, more slender design. We got it because we were fascinated with that straight-back pull design of the bolt and we were impressed by the overall quality. Like you say, they are pricey (I think ours was a little under $650), but then again, it's a Miroku made Browning, and it is a very high quality firearm that can be passed down a couple of generations..

Re: Browning TBolt
I don't have one personally, but a friend has one in .17 HMR with a Walnut stock...nice gun and a good shooter. I have seen pictures of the maple stock version...gorgeous.

Re: Browning TBolt
Thanks Tad I was intrigued by the bolt also and that is the reason for my interest along with the maple stock. Like Roddy shows above those maple stocks are really nice looking. Al

Re: Browning TBolt
Don’t own one but have always liked them from the original version back in the 70s. Squirrel hunting with a .22 rifle is one of my passions and nothing but a super accurate rifle with a good trigger is acceptable. Those are beautiful rifles and I figure they will shoot well also.

Curious question about hunting squirrel with a .22. Does a squirrel's body stop a .22 bullet or does the bullet travel on?

Re: Browning TBolt
In my experience, the bullet is rarely stopped, especially up by the head. Of coarse different guns, bullets, and I suppose squirrels will yield different results.Mags wrote:Curious question about hunting squirrel with a .22. Does a squirrel's body stop a .22 bullet or does the bullet travel on?

Re: Browning TBolt
Thought that might be the case. Since I don't eat them, I'll just keep using my .410 for squirrel.
