Thanks. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it...not bad for a first timer. There is also a 1944 Remington 121 Fieldmaster .22 pump in the safe that could use a similar treatment. I need to pick up an old $50 .22 or something so I can practice my steaming, sand filling, and dent removal before I attempt that one.

"First-timer?" Seems more like "I've done this many times...here's my latest!" You certainly deserve to be happy with that fantastic outcome of your bolt-action.
I've always liked the looks of a Monte Carlo stock; it has a special character all its own. But I must as always mention how beautiful all your wood furniture turned out. Amazingly so. When not using this rifle, it should be prominently displayed on a nice wall rifle rack!
Have to note one preference, however. Glad to hear you're going to try out the rear Williams peep sight. I use only peep sights on my two Henry Carbines. I hope you like the peep sight so much you won't need to mount a scope! The gun (from my perspective) is perfect as is!
Overall a top-notch job. Your photos are all great. Thanks for sharing this rifle with us.

Thanks for the compliments. It wasn't difficult to do, just time consuming. I think I developed a touch of tennis elbow from all the rubbing. It helped that the wood itself was in really nice condition to start with.
I'm looking forward to the peep sight, actually. I struggle a bit with the (semi) buckhorn sights...near vision isn't what it used to be. Fibre optics help, but look out of place on a gun like this.
