Ruger #1
Re: Ruger #1
I'm gonna take a different tack.....I've had a No. 1 V in 22-250 for over 40 years...came out of the box with xxx fancy walnut..the V models are 24" bbls (heavy)...that thing with my loads (using IMR 3031) will put five inside a thumbnail at 100 meters (109yds)...even when the barrel heats up...I've got a 4570 that shoots a ragged hole at 100 yards with 400gr. Speers....that thing kills at both ends though...I also bought a No. 1B in 223 from a neighbor of mine a few yeas ago...I did some work on the tenon/fore end and it shoots great with 55gr HPs and H335 powder (same loads I use in my AR's...).. Yeah, you have to understand that No. 1s can be picky, but they are one gorgeous rifle...good luck.. BobG in VA
