Cowgirl, I totally agree with you on the excellence of the 9422. I have a 1972 model with a s/n in the 18,000 range. Fits are superb.
The 9422 was designed from the get-go with the strength to handle the .22 magnum.
Another often overlooked feature is the carefully controlled feeding. You can jack a shell in the chamber from any angle, even upside down.
My Uberti Silverboy can also load in any position.
Just for kicks I leaned my Henry Golden Boy to the left and ended up having to take off the receiver cover to dig out the cartridge. I don't see this as a big problem for the Henry because I normally operate all of my lever guns in a vertical position.
I love all of my .22 levers but if I had to save one from a fire, it would be my Winchester 9422.

Had a chance to get one at the LGS.
Seemed to be a very well made rifle.
