Two for the show
My wife and I are going to a show at Center Hall, Pa. this morning with a friend. It is usually a nice but lately shows have been hit and miss on being worth the time of going and finding any thing nice or affordable. I have two guns to take and a couple hours before we get there to decide if I even will take them in to sell. I will walk around first with them still in the car and "feel" the show out on what's there and what may be something that I could trade for or sell one or both. I am taking an all original 512P Remington made in 1946. It has all it's original finish and no holes drilled in the metal or wood. Factory peep sight model and still is in mint condition but this just seems to always be in the back of the safe and don't get shot. The other one is a 1954 Marlin 39A. I just found the rear sight for this one in my sight box so it is missing nothing. Has a Williams peep on it now. This is a rare 39A being one of 271 24" barrel rifles that has a Ballard rifled barrel instead of the new for that time Micro-groove rifling. The Marlin records show 271 24" rifles and 58 20" Mounties made in '54 with the Ballard barrels. Already sold a Mountie for my SIL a few years ago that was one of the 58 made in '54. That one was grabbed up by a Marlin collector. I will make my mind up on the way to the show to sell them or not. At 68 years old it should be getting easy to part with some of these rifles but it is not.

Wow! Two beauties for sure. I understand your angst about selling them. If I lived in your neck of the woods I would be knocking on your door to get a look at the Marlin.

Beautiful rifles! You should have no problems selling them if you do decide to do this.
We sold all of our CT Marlin rifles, including two sweet Marlin Golden 39A rifles, shy of two CT Marlin rifles of my husband's. He kept the Marlin 336SS (30-30) and his Classic '1895' (45-70).
Have fun at the show!

I'm glad that's not a decision that I have to make, bandit. It will be a really special rifle that replaces one of those beauties.
