Re: 1860 Henry
Brand new, all cleaned up. The fit and finish is gorgeous. All metal to wood is flawless. Surprisingly nice wood on it, with a rich looking finish. Judge for yourself. The wood goes from reddish brown to deep brown depending on the light. Brass is highly polished but my plan is to let it "patina". Action is smooth just a little Rem Oil to slick it up a bit. Bluing is deep and shiny. Real pretty case hardened lever and hammer. Mag tube spring slides easy and muzzle opens smooth to load. Enjoy the pics. I am a happy cowboy.

More. It also feels very well balanced and shoulders fast and tight. Look forward to shooting on the weekend. Sights seem easy to line up too. Targets won't lie I guess.

Thank you for the kind words Dutch. My crappy photos don't do it justice, the wood is much warmer and richer in reality. The stickers they put on the brass left their mark, but that will eventually polish out.

I'm surprised at the wood; it's not as exquisite as the HRA walnut, but it's not bad.

Re: 1860 Henry
Glad to see the photos....very nice-looking rifle. As you said, often wood furniture looks better in person...but it does look very nice with the colors and grains. My photos never really show how nice the firearm really looks. Ah, other than the one set of photos of my Bronze Big Boy, which I had taken outside --- must have been perfect sunlight and perfect angle of light on the rifle.
First comment. Very smart move as your signature line indicates. All of your firearms are the same .45 Colt caliber.... Sure saves time and hassle of finding/purchasing multiple calibers....good job. Also, I don't think I've ever heard of anybody receiving free ammo with a rifle purchase.....very cool!
Comment two. I like your choice to let the Cimarron bronze go to patina. I did that on my BBB, and it does look quite good.
Final comment. I saw in the thread about Triple K that you were going to order a scabbard. Didn't you buy your "Quiver" from them? That is really a great scabbard....mine has worked very well both for my shotgun and Henry rifles. And the leather quality is excellent. I'll never need to buy a replacement.
OK, best of everything with your new Cimarron. Looking forward to your range reports, and if the new scabbard is for this rifle, more photos will be expected!!
Enjoy and be safe.

Re: 1860 Henry
Yes I ordered a new saddle scabbard from Triple K; the 1860 has a 24" barrel compared to the Big Boy at 20". Thanks for the nice comments!
