I am looking at one made in 1908 with 24 inch octagonal barrel 32-20. It should be at the store next week for closer inspection and if you might own one what loads do you shoot in it? Will be trying Black Hills and some HSM Cowboy ammo to start if I purchase it.

Not in 32-20, but I do have one in 25-20, so no help on loads.
Hope it meets your satisfaction. My, it is fun. ;)

I sort of have one. My neighbor picked one up about 3 years ago and asked me if to check it out and see about ammo for it. He hasn't picked it up yet so I'm thinking of claiming squatters rights. Anyway as for as loads I tested some 100 gr lead round noses that are high tech. coated. with 3.0 and 3.2 gr. of TiteGroup. Both worked very well but the 3.2 seemed to group better. My chrono. showed 1025 and 1075 fps respectively. The bigger issue I faced was getting brass for loading.

It's a fun little rifle. Very light, easy to shoulder and fire repeat rounds. With the 100 gr. bullet it has minor recoil.

On the subject of brass for reloading... Might be able to resize the case diameter of 32 S&W Long or 32 H&R Mag to that of 32-20. Though the resulting cartridge would be shorter in OAL than a 32-20.

Had a 32-20 in a Contender. It was a great round for what I was using it for which was sillywet. But right now I dont even remember what loads I was using. There is a guy on MArlin Owners that has one for sale that if I was looking to buy more guns I would consider. But I have everything I need to take me to my dirt nap
