I was thinking he could've undone the mag tube to relive the pressure.

So true, GFK. Every jam I've had with lever guns was being too lazy when working the lever.

That's what would happen with my Henry rifle! After 3-5 seconds it would release! I wasn't slow with the action I can say that.

I have a Marlin 1894 that did something similar, when I shoot Magtech ammo. Federal, Remington and Winchester were not an issue. So, I stop shooting Magtech in it. I have shoot a few hundred rounds since then.
