Marlin 39 mountie

Bought it a couple years ago. Looks in the
Really good condition. Cycles smooth as butter when empty. It will cycle and shoot bullets but when cycling bullets the action seems very stiff.... ya think it's just gummed up and needs a good teardown and cleaning?

Sure, go ahead, if that doesn’t fix it, then you can go deeper. Post some pics please, I always liked those carbines.

Do make sure the take down screw on the action is tight. Not gorilla tight, but just tight. Have had some 39s where it was just that simple to smooth them up.

When I had mine the take down screw was kind of easy to over tighten. Finger tight then use a quarter for 1/4 turn.
