Short barreled pump?

Post by Oksrt » Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:47 pm

Do you think Henry will make a pump with an octagonal 16.5” barrel? Would be very interested.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I wonder if you could find a company that would do that for you? Once I had a 20-ga shotgun barrel shortened, but not to obtain a carbine length. I just had them "remove" the threaded area for the chokes, and turned it into a cylinder bore. Gave them the barrel length I wanted, after determining what was legal. With that cylinder bore, I only shot slugs, not shotshells. They did a great job.

I'm wanting a pump Mare's Leg. May have to SBR one but I just hate the thought of paying a ransom to the government for something they took that was already mine.

Take a look at the Mossberg Shockwave. I picked up one when they first came out specifically as a truck gun, and something to carry in the Ranger UTV. In the UTV it fits right behind the seat in a little open space behind the cushion and below the backrest. No need for a gun rack. In the truck it will tuck neatly between the bucket seat and the console.

When looked at for that purpose it's perfect, and you would be surprised at how easy it is to shoot. Miss T can hit the targets pretty easily after she learned NOT to try and bring it up close to aim the darn thing. I didn't make many mods, only added a side quick disconnect for a single point sling.

With Buck and / or slugs it's just the medicine for a wandering coyote or a rabid skunk or fox. Drop a few #7s in the pocket of the coat and you can have a solution for other issues if need be.
We haven't regretted the purchase. They came out with the same gun in 20 gauge shortly after the 12 went flying off the shelves, and I recently saw that they are selling the Shockwave with wooden furniture. ;)

Remington has a similar gun, but I didn't like the larger, more bulky forearm on their offering.
