Shooting Steel with the Pump

Post by retAFShooter » Tue Jul 25, 2017 4:42 pm

I took the opportunity to exercise some new, relaxed, rules at our local Range. They are allowing some rimfire 22 action at closer distances than before. So I took some of my 22s to check it out. Lots of fun. The Henry Pump with Fiber Optic (TruGlo) sights was fun at 30 and 50 yards against a 12" steel gong.

nicely done .... this is the first video I've seen featuring the Henry pump ... have you had to make any adjustments to the sights

Good video and nice shooting - you rang that steel like it was 50ft away instead of 50 yds. Not bad for an Airforce guy...

Well, since I swapped out the stock Henry sights with the TruGlo sights I'm really liking this Henry Pump. The rear TruGlo is easily adjustable for both vertical and windage. When I went to 50 yards (second clip), you will notice that the impacts were a little lower so I could have adjusted the sights but I didn't do it that time. On the third clip, I just adjusted my aim point a little.

from watching some younger shooters at various ranges, Kentucky Windage almost seems to be a lost art .... enjoyed the videos, it fun watching someone who is able to make changes on the fly while making it look easy

Nice shooting! Image

I love the Henry pump action - I start smiling as it goes into the range bag and it doesn't come off for a fortnight after. ;) :D

Very nice, I enjoyed the split screen during the shooting portions. Well done.

Nice video, wish I had that skill. I too use a pump on steel. We shoot NRA smallbore cowboy sihlouette at the Tehama Shooters Club here in Redbluff CA . My pump with Skinner peeps seems almost perfect. The youngsters are much more enthusiastic with steel targets. :D
