Re: Just got a new Pump H003T
The one thing I did find was that there was practically no lubrication on any of the internal components. Apart from that, I haven't had any mechanical problems at all.
The trigger breaks cleanly at around 3lbs, and it is very smooth, with no grittiness at all.
The slide needs to be operated firmly and with authority, but it is very positive in operation. The rifle is very accurate, and would make a great squirrel and small varmint rifle.
The bottom line is, it's a Henry. That tells you all you need to know, really.

I don't have one, but I would like one. The only thing I've consistently heard about them is that the actions on them are not as easy or smooth to work as people would like them to be.

I have one and really like it. I'm waiting for Les to put up an instructional video up on disassembly but I don't think Les knows that. I know it took me about 500 rounds thru it before it loosened up. It was stiff at first and like some say took a firm stoke to work the action. It is very accurate or at least mine is and its fun to shoot. I would buy one again for sure. Al

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

You know Id be happy to do one but from what I have read they dont reccommend taking them down. Les is the only guy I know that has that adventours talent to pull it off. Hes already taken his apart and tuned it up. Alditto1958 wrote:Big Al, you should do the disassembly video.BigAl52 wrote:I have one and really like it. Re: Just got a new Pump H003T
That is a good shooter for a pump action. It might not bring home the Gold in the Olympics but it will harvest any rabbit or squirrel. I've always thought a pump was the best for shooting a moving target because the trigger hand never moves which means you have a constant check weld. Levers are close but not quite as good.jpg wrote:Just got out to the Range [local Rod & Gun Club] With the Pump ran about 200 rounds , the gun is a shooter, put a Nikon 1.5 /4.5 turkey optic on it 1/2" at 25 yds 3/4" at 50 yds , CCI 40 gr mini- mags .
