Those who choose Uberti probably do so for the authenticity of having a Colt replica.
Ruger isn't really replicating anything specific but are producing a quality SA revolver of their own design.
An I too am a fan of Ruger and have owned several - but none currently.

Well, as stated Uberti does tend to be more true to the original in all the cases I have mentioned previously. Most certainly a draw, I however had other concerns or needs that were always more important or worked better for me in the end.

I do know that H.R.A. bought an original Henry rifle to reverse engineer the one that they made. There was a picture of it and the serial number in an article in GUNS OF THE OLD WEST.

That's true in my case. I like the old west replica appeal of the Uberti. Don't get me wrong my Big Boy I sold was a shooter and my buddy LOVES it. But I am very happy with my replica guns.

I posted a link awhile back that shows the difference in the stocks. The HRA one is an early version of the 1860 with a deeper belly on the stock and the Uberti is a less deep stock more common to later model 1860's.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Got a link or a copy of the article?

Well, there's certainly a noticeable diffrence when compared to my various Winchester replicas. Of course these are replicas of the 1866 and 1873. As of yet I have not seen any actual Henry rifles or even the Uberti but the Original Henry as you say definitely has pretty deep belly on it's stock.
